After completing the price comparison process you will have decided which supplier you would like to switch to and also have selected a tariff that suits you. You can expect with 48 hours to receive written confirmation by post.
Following that, your new supplier will send you a welcome pack to your postal address as well. This should arrive within the next two weeks. The welcome pack for online tariff options usually is emailed. In this welcome pack you will find the date that the switch will be made. This process takes approximately 6 weeks from the initial confirmation date.
The only thing you need to do is to take down the meter reading on the switch date and give it to the new supplier. All other communication is done between the two suppliers. Your old supplier will send you a final account. Any credit will be refunded in the form of a cheque.

Can I expect an interruption of power on the day of switching?
The equipment that supplies the energy, for example gas pipes and electricity cables remain the same. The only difference is your billing. There will be no disruption of service as a result.
How soon am I with my new supplier?
To switch suppliers takes in the region of 6 weeks from the date you confirm that you would like to switch. The switch date is only confirmed in the two weeks following that. This is the official date that you will be with your new supplier and your contract with your old supplier will be terminated. All arrangements are made between the two suppliers and it is not necessary for you to liaise with either one of them
Will I be contacted by my new energy supplier?
You will get communication from your new supplier within about 14 days from confirmation either by post or email. This welcome pack contains all necessary information and details on how to contact them.
Will I be billed by both suppliers?
You should not be billed twice but to be sure, go to your bank to cancel your direct debit orders from the old supplier. Your final statement will come after the switch date. For customers that were in credit this will include a refund cheque.
Am I able to change my mind?
The cooling off period only lasts 7 days from the date you received your welcome pack. So in effect you have three weeks plus enough time to go through the welcome pack to be sure that the information you received matches your initial requirements. How often can I switch suppliers?
You are obliged to stay with the same provider for a minimum of 56 days which means that every 56 days you are entitled to switch suppliers if necessary. Be sure to take note of any penalty fees for early cancellation.
