Able UK Jobs and How to Land One
By Anne Lewis-Schneider
When Able UK start up on their project construction and manufacturing will be the first job necessity to get the Marine Energy Park up and on the go. A quay will be built on land near North Killingholme and there will be various other onshore facilities needed for the manufacturing of parts to build wind turbines and a transport infrastructure to move them. These will be for the North Sea projects. The first phase of the Marine Park will entail construction workers. The development director Neil Etherington outlined that the jobs would be available in groundwork, general construction, and for welders and platers, which are semi-skilled jobs.
The Council of North Lincolnshire has submitted plans for a new £10 million University Technical College which will have engineering and renewable energy as its main feature. This facility will be available for 14 to 19 year age group interested in a career in these areas. It is hoped that the new UTC will provide training and also help to boost the area as a whole. Information on the requirements to study various career paths is available from the National Careers Service not only for jobs at Able UK but in general.
